China forex regulator vows crackdown on illegal FX trading during 15th "Five-Year Plan"

China's forex regulator will step up efforts to maintain a stable foreign exchange market and crack down on illegal activities such as fraudulent transactions and underground banking during the 15th "Five-Year Plan" period, Li Bin, spokesperson and deputy administrator of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange, said at a press conference on September 10. The regulator will also continue managing the country's foreign exchange reserves with Chinese characteristics to safeguard their safety, liquidity and value, Li said.
