The Mongolian government submitted its 2027 draft budget to parliament in late August, projecting revenues of 41.3 trillion tugriks ($11.5 bln), expenditures of 43.6 trillion tugriks, and a deficit of 2.306 trillion tugriks, local media reported. Mining exports are expected to account for the largest share of budget revenue. The draft sets targets of 110 Mt of coal and 2.1 Mt of copper concentrate exports in 2027. Copper concentrate output from the Oyu Tolgoi deposit is forecast to increase. The government will prioritize expanding mining product exports next year by boosting border port capacity, accelerating cross-border railway construction, and improving the operation of the mining products exchange.
