State Grid's North China branch saw its maximum renewable power generation hit a record high on September 3, becoming the first regional grid in China to surpass 200 GW of peak renewable output.
The grid leads all regional networks in renewable installed capacity, power output and electricity generation. State Grid's North China branch has coordinated with provincial power companies on action plans to ensure stable renewable generation growth. Peak renewable output doubled from 100 GW in 2022 to 200 GW in just four years.
To support renewable grid integration, the branch has improved connection dispatch guidelines, promoted full modeling coverage for new stations and strengthened commissioning safety controls. From January to August, it facilitated grid connection for 30.17 GW of new renewable capacity.
