Zhengxiangbaiqi 200 MW solar project connected to grid

Guangdong Thermal Power New Energy, a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Group, said on Sep 4 that the 200 MW photovoltaic project in Zhengxiangbaiqi, part of the Xilingol Jingneng Zhihui desertification control and wind-solar integration project, achieved full-capacity grid connection.

Located in Zhengxiangbaiqi, Xilingol League, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, the project spans approximately 5787.75 mu (386 hectares) and was undertaken by Guangdong Thermal Power New Energy as the general contractor.

Once operational, the project is expected to generate about 339 GWh of electricity annually, saving approximately 93,200 tonnes of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 221,000 tonnes, sulfur dioxide by 4,200 tonnes, dust emissions by 23,500 tonnes and nitrogen oxide emissions by 1,200 tonnes per year.

The project is expected to support local clean energy development while contributing to desertification control and ecological improvement.
