German factory orders jump 3.1% in Jun, domestic demand leads

German factory orders rose a seasonally and price-adjusted 3.1% in June from May, driven by a 7.8% surge in domestic orders, while foreign orders edged up 0.2% with a 10.2% gain outside the eurozone offsetting a 14% plunge from within the bloc, Destatis said on August 6. Capital goods orders rose 6.4%, consumer goods gained 4.2%, while intermediate goods fell 2.5%. Year-on-year, orders soared 6.5%.
