China's coal output rises 1.4% in 2025, mining investment up for fifth straight year

China's Ministry of Natural Resources said in a report that the country's coal output reached 4.85 billion tonnes in 2025, up 1.4% year on year, while fixed-asset investment in the mining sector posted positive growth for a fifth consecutive year. Crude oil output rose to 216 million tonnes, extending gains for a seventh straight year, and natural gas production reached 262.06 billion cubic meters, marking a ninth consecutive year of increases of over 10 billion cubic meters, according to the report.
