JERA to shut 1.07 GW Taketoyo coal unit from Oct 1 for emissions cut

Japan's JERA Co said in a filing to the country's energy regulator that it plans to shut the 1.07 GW No. 5 coal-fired unit at its Taketoyo thermal power plant in central Japan from Oct 1 to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, with a restart scheduled for Nov 10.
