Anhui province's electricity spot market will transition to formal operations starting Sep 9, 2026, according to a joint notice issued by the provincial development and reform commission, provincial energy administration and East China energy regulator. The market has been running in continuous settlement trial mode since Dec 31, 2024, operating smoothly for over a year through peak summer and winter demand periods, extreme weather events, major holidays and key activities, supporting the province's energy security, green transition and economic development.
