The Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization (GEIDCO) has formally established its first standards technical committee, focused on information and communication technology (ICT) networks and intelligent operation and maintenance (O&M) in the power sector, with the secretariat hosted by State Grid Beijing Electric Power Company.

The committee aims to build an international standards system covering the full chain of power ICT, developing standards in areas including power communication network technology, intelligent O&M, cybersecurity protection, digital operations and quantum technology. These standards are designed to support global energy interconnection, secure and stable grid operations, digital transformation of power grids, green power integration and optimized resource allocation.

GEIDCO, a global non-governmental and non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the global energy interconnection and clean, green and sustainable power supply, now counts 1,450 member companies across 145 countries. The organization seeks to establish an international standards framework that complements and aligns with existing systems such as ISO, ITU and IEEE.

State Grid Beijing Electric Power, as the secretariat host, said it will leverage its advantages to coordinate professional resources, build a dedicated standards team and create a platform for sharing and exchange, aiming to develop practical and replicable international standards based on grid scenarios.
