Baltic Exchange's main sea freight index, tracking rates for ships carrying dry bulk commodities, dropped 1.46% on Sep 7 to 3,575 points, its biggest daily decline since Aug 18, 2026. The panamax index fell 0.69% to 2,431 points, while the capesize index lost 2.19% to 6,286 points. The supramax index edged up 0.42% to 1,682 points.
