Hebei southern grid green power trading tops 10 TWh

Green power trading volume in Hebei's southern grid surpassed 10 TWh this year, reaching 10.19 TWh as of Aug 20, more than double the full-year volume of 2025 and marking a third consecutive year of leapfrog growth.

Under the national unified electricity market framework, State Grid Hebei Electric Power Co., Ltd. has advanced 15th "Five-Year Plan" market operations, expanding green power applications to support the energy transition. The company strengthened market mechanism design and policy coordination to secure green power supply and meet trading demand, organizing 17 provincial green power trading sessions involving 206 market participants this year.

State Grid Hebei has also facilitated outbound green power deliveries since early 2025, working with State Grid Corp of China's North China branch to bundle renewable and thermal power for exports to East China, Beijing and Tianjin. Cumulative outbound renewable power reached 270 GWh, including 20 GWh of green power trading.

The company promoted green power retail packages and established a consumption certificate verification system, signing 1,277 retail contracts with power users and issuing 237 green power consumption statements to key customers in sectors such as steel, supporting energy savings, carbon reduction and export-related carbon offset needs.
