Hunan's power regulator has adjusted the province's medium- and long-term power market from weekday-only continuous trading to daily continuous operation, with markets now open on weekends and statutory holidays.
The move fills the trading window gap on non-working days, improving coordination between Hunan's medium- and long-term power trading and short-term mutual assistance as well as inter-provincial markets. It also better accommodates fluctuations in new energy output and holiday load changes, supporting new energy consumption and power supply security while expanding trading options for market participants.
Going forward, the regulator will urge market operators to maintain market monitoring, assess trading execution results in a timely manner and continue refining market mechanisms to ensure the orderly operation of Hunan's medium- and long-term power market.
