China's national carbon market saw its benchmark carbon emission allowance (CEA) price close at 97.81 yuan/t on Aug 20, up 0.42% from the previous trading day, according to data from the Shanghai Environment and Energy Exchange. The day's trading saw the price open at 97.40 yuan/t, with a high of 98.00 yuan/t and a low of 97.40 yuan/t. Total CEA volume reached 997,422 tonnes, with a turnover of 96.87 million yuan ($14.41 million), including 365,382 tonnes traded via listed contracts worth 35.74 million yuan and 632,040 tonnes via bulk contracts worth 61.13 million yuan. No one-way bidding transactions were conducted during the session.
