China's national carbon market saw its benchmark carbon emission allowance (CEA) price close at 70.86 yuan/t on Aug 18, down 0.99% from the previous trading day, according to data from the Shanghai Environment and Energy Exchange. The day's trading saw the price open at 71.31 yuan/t, with a high of 71.31 yuan/t and a low of 70.85 yuan/t. Total CEA volume reached 390,844 tonnes, with a turnover of 27.93 million yuan ($4.14 million), comprising 90,844 tonnes traded via listed contracts and 300,000 tonnes via bulk contracts. No one-way bidding transactions were conducted during the session.
