China outlined the stance on so-called "overcapacity" issues

China's State Council Information Office held a press conference on July 28, 2026, to outline Beijing's stance on so-called "overcapacity" issues. The Ministry of Commerce said China believes capacity issues should be viewed comprehensively, objectively and fairly, and should not be used as a pretext for protectionism, warning such actions would disrupt global trade order and supply chain stability, deepen conflicts and divisions, and pose long-term risks to world economic growth.
