China's steel prices in mid-July 2026 mostly reversed earlier losses, with several key products posting slight gains, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed.

Rebar (20mm, HRB400E) was at 3,149.8 yuan/t, up 0.1% from early July, when a 0.8% decline was recorded.

Wire rod (8-10mm, HPB300) rose 0.1% to 3,315.0 yuan/t, versus a 0.7% drop in early July. Hot-rolled coil (4.75-11.5mm, Q235) edged up 0.1% to 3,305.6 yuan/t, after a 0.7% decline in the prior period.

Angle steel (5#) gained 0.1% to 3,445.3 yuan/t in mid-July, compared with a 0.5% fall earlier. Seamless pipe (219*6, 20#) was flat from early July at 4,045.6 yuan/t.

Medium plate (20mm, Q235) bucked the trend, falling 0.3 yuan/t to 3,480.9 yuan/t, extending its decline from the prior period.
