Russian steelmakers resuming exports to distant markets

Cooling domestic demand is prompting Russian steelmakers to resume exporting rolled products to markets in the Middle East and North Africa, while risks to shipping in the Black Sea are causing them to redirect volumes to the Baltic Sea, Kommersant reported. In Jul and Aug, rolled product exports from Russia fell by half compared to the spring, a gap that will be difficult to recoup by year-end.
