Fenwei Digital Information Technology Co., Ltd., operator of China's premier coal intelligence and pricing platform Sxcoal, and the Mongolian Coal Association (MCA), representing Mongolia's major coal producers and exporters, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a strategic framework for long-term cooperation.

Signed by Feng Dongbin, deputy general manager of Fenwei, and MCA President Dr. Bymbabadagya Bayaraa during the MiningWeek & MinePro 2026 event over September 16-18, the agreement aims to enhance regional trade efficiency, enhance market transparency, and foster deeper industrial alignment between the two nations.

This strategic alignment underscores Fenwei's ongoing commitment to connecting global markets with authoritative data and building resilient, transparent cross-border supply chains.
Under the partnership, Fenwei and MCA will roll out an annual program of joint events and exchanges to provide tangible marketing and networking opportunities for Sxcoal clients and MCA members.
Notably, comprehensive study tours will bridge the gap between upstream producers and downstream markets, giving Mongolian miners direct visibility into China's downstream ecosystem while offering Chinese industry delegations on-site access to Mongolian mining operations and logistics infrastructure.
Founded in 1998, the MCA is the most influential non-governmental industry organization in Mongolia's coal sector. It brings together major domestic coal producers and exporters that contribute more than 90% of the country's coal output and exports. As a core bridge between the government and enterprises, the association is committed to safeguarding industry interests, promoting policy reform and actively facilitating international coal trade and supply chain cooperation, including between China and Mongolia.
Fenwei began offering third-party insights and market research services to domestic and international companies in the early stages of market-oriented reforms in China's coal sector. The company has a seaonsoned research team with extensive industry experience, providing information, consulting, indices and digitalization solutions for coal and coke enterprises.
Fenwei has established a systematic, comprehensive coal and coke index system that provides transparent, reliable price benchmarks for the industry. The price indexes for coking coal from major producing areas, imported seaborne coal and Mongolian coal at major China-Mongolia border ports are widely used as pricing references, decision-making tools and assessment standards.
Sxcoal tracks customs clearance, inventory and trading of Mongolian coal at border ports in real time, providing timely and authoritative Mongolian coal import information and consulting services.
The China-delivered Mongolian coal index system includes more than 20 indices and covers major border ports such as Ganqimaodu, Ceke, Mandula and Zhuengadabuqi, as well as key transfer hubs including Jinquan and Shaheyi, providing pricing benchmark for cross-border Mongolian coal trade. Among them, the CCI indexes for Ganqimaodu Mongolian 5# raw coking coal and Ganqimaodu Mongolian 3# washed coking coal have gained broad market recognition and attention.
CCI Mongolian coal indexes carry significant weight in quarterly long-term contract pricing for Mongolia's Tavan Tolgoi mine and in forward coal contract pricing on the Mongolian Stock Exchange. They are also widely used by domestic enterprises to price spot Mongolian coal contracts, generally adopting an "index plus premium/discount" floating pricing model, making them a core price anchor for China-Mongolia cross-border Mongolian coal trade.
