China's Ministry of Natural Resources said in a report that the country discovered 53 mineral deposits in 2025, with gold, iron ore, coal, manganese and lithium among the leading minerals by number of new finds. Gold accounted for 16 of the new discoveries, followed by iron ore with 11, coal with 9, and manganese and lithium with 8 each, according to the report.
