Northback Holdings plans to submit scaled-down coal mine application by yr-end

Canadian mining company Northback Holdings plans to submit a scaled-down Grassy Mountain coal mine application by year-end, CEO Brad Johnston told Crowsnest Pass council on Aug 25, as reported by Canada's National Observer. The original Alberta project was rejected in 2021 over environmental risks. The new plan cuts the footprint by over 50% and targets 2.5 million tonnes of metallurgical coal annually, down from 4.5 million.
