Russia's Port Alliance JSC increased its export shipments by 4% year on year in August 2026, reaching 3.4 million tonnes, Tass reported, noting the seaport operator relied on a diversified cargo base and the flexibility of its port network.

Murmansk Commercial Seaport recorded the largest increment in cargo turnover, with shipload volumes climbing 31% year on year to 829,000 tonnes, a result the company linked to its strategy of diversifying its cargo base.

At Murmansk Bulk Terminal, shipments totaled 260,000 tonnes, a 65% rise. Port Alliance said the terminal's specialized mineral fertilizer capacity ensures stable access for Russian agricultural chemicals to global markets and reliably supports other logistics routes.

Khabarovsk's Osterra port exported 1.72 million tonnes of coal, down 11% from a year ago. By contrast, the Small Port in Nakhodka handled 372,000 tonnes of coal, an 8% increase. In the Azov-Black Sea basin, a specialized terminal handled 135,900 tonnes of fertilizer, while Baltic cargo transshipment volume totaled 56,900 tonnes.

Port Alliance was able to maintain and slightly increase total cargo turnover in August thanks to the geographical interchangeability of the group's ports and the diversification of our cargo base, said Sergey Galkin, Director of Port Operations at the company. He added that the ability to quickly redistribute flows between basins and expand the range of cargo handled allows the group to maintain a stable balance of operating results and provide Russian exporters with uninterrupted access to foreign markets.

Port Alliance manages seaports and terminals in the Far East, Northwest, and Azov-Black Sea basins. The combined capacity of its assets exceeds 80 million tonnes of cargo per year. The group specializes in the transshipment of mineral fertilizers and thermal coal, supporting strategic export routes for the Russian economy.
