Indonesia's energy ministry has confirmed that mining and coal work plans and budgets (RKAB) for 2027 will continue under the annual approval system, rather than reverting to the previous three-year cycle, according to Bloomberg. The decision, based on Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry Regulation No. 17 of 2025, aims to enable more flexible output oversight to support price stability. Industry groups including the Indonesian Mining Experts Association (Perhapi) have opposed the move, arguing the annual system adds approval hurdles and weakens long-term investment certainty.
