China's stainless steel crude output totaled 3.63 million tonnes in July 2026, down 0.60% month on month, according to data from the Stainless Steel Council of the China Iron and Steel Association.

Cr-Ni series stainless steel output stood at 1.88 million tonnes, down 4.98% from the previous month. Cr-Mn series output rose 8.35% month on month to 1.03 million tonnes, while Cr series output edged down 0.42% to 671,800 tonnes. Duplex stainless steel output was 50,846 tonnes.

China's stainless steel imports in July totaled 116,400 tonnes, down 3.16% from the previous month but up 59.45% year on year. Exports reached 391,400 tonnes, down 13.21% month on month and 6.00% from a year earlier. Net exports of stainless steel stood at 275,000 tonnes in July, down 19.87% year on year.

Apparent consumption of  stainless steel was 3.01 million tonnes in July 2026, up 0.98% from a month earlier.
