Shanxi Coking Coal: Mine shutdowns have limited production impact

Shanxi Coking Coal Energy Group said suspended mines had limited impact on output, with operations now largely back to normal.

The company's main suspended mines were Xiqu, Malan, Zhenchengdi and Ximing, it said at an August 28 results briefing. Xiqu halted production on July 23, resumed on July 30, then suspended again on August 5 due to an accident before restarting by August 26. Malan was idled on July 27 and resumed on July 30. Zhenchengdi and Ximing suspended on July 27 and July 30 respectively due to expired licenses, with the halt lasting about one month.

On the evening of August 28, Shanxi Coking Coal announced Zhenchengdi and Ximing had completed license renewals and passed safety inspections by Taiyuan's emergency management and local coal mine safety supervision authorities. Production resumed from August 28 with approval from the Taiyuan municipal government.

Regarding new exploration rights won at auction in 2024, the company said it is planning the Xingxian project as a whole, aiming to build a zero-carbon smart demonstration mining area, explore coal-over-aluminum extraction models, and advance high-end, intelligent, green and integrated development of the Xingxian mining area.

The company continues to monitor quality coal assets within the group and across the province, and will advance acquisitions of quality assets when they meet listing criteria to create value for shareholders.
