India's state-run Coal India Ltd (CIL) has incorporated a wholly-owned subsidiary, CIL Global Pte. Ltd., in Singapore on Aug 24 to explore and develop overseas critical mineral acquisition opportunities, manage foreign investments and diversify its business away from coal, according to foreign media reports. The company also plans to set up a subsidiary in Chile and has secured four critical mineral and rare earth blocks domestically in India.
