Ganqimaodu border port has handled 34.08 million tonnes of cargo this year as of August 16, according to data released by the port's official WeChat account.

Coal imports accounted for 32.27 million tonnes of the total, with copper concentrate imports at 1.25 million tonnes and manganese ore at 2,400 tonnes. Exports reached 552,000 tonnes.

Separately, Mongolian coal companies have offered 24.01 million tonnes for electronic auctions since the start of 2026 as of Aug 17, according to Sxcoal's compilation of Mongolian Stock Exchange data.

Auction transactions totaled 20.61 million tonnes, representing a 86% transaction rate. Of the successful bids, 88% were designated for delivery at Ganqimaodu port.
