China Huaneng Group, one of China's major state-owned power generators, has launched its 28th centralized tender of 2026 for imported thermal coal, seeking 13 cargoes totaling 831,000 tonnes for delivery to its coastal power plants between late August and late September, according to a tender notice issued on August 4.

The cargoes required, ranging from 3,000-5,500 Kcal/kg NAR with sulfur content between 0.3% and 1.5%, should be delivered mostly in September, except one in late August.
Permissible origin countries include Indonesia, Russia, Australia, and Malaysia, with several lots accepting coal from multiple sources.
Bidding will be due on August 5 at 16:00, with results to be announced by 17:30 on August 10.
