China's coal prices showed mixed moves in late July, with anthracite extending strong gains and thermal coal rebounding, while coking coal losses widened, data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showed on August 4.
Anthracite (washed mid-lump) was priced at 1,321.9 yuan/t, up 5.0% from mid-July.
Shanxi high-quality blend (5,500 Kcal/kg NAR) rose 1.5% to 824.8 yuan/t over the same period.
Primary coking coal fell 1.7% to 1,875 yuan/t, extending declines from the previous period.
Coke (quasi-first grade metallurgical coke, 12.01%≤ash≤13.50%) dropped 3.1% to 1,740.2 yuan/t in late July.
Among coal chemical products, urea (small and medium granules) declined 0.7% to 1,786.8 yuan/t, while ordinary Portland cement (P.O 42.5 bulk) fell 1.4% to 246.4 yuan/t.
Methanol (premium grade) rose 1.4% to 2,526.9 yuan/t, LLDPE (film grade) gained 0.9% to 8,500.4 yuan/t, and polypropylene (raffia grade) increased 0.6% to 8,929.0 yuan/t.
Liquefied natural gas (LNG) fell 3.0% to 5,525.4 yuan/t, while liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) surged 9.8% to 5,999.5 yuan/t in late July.
