Haohua Energy proposes interim dividend after H1 profit surge

Haohua Energy Resources Co., Ltd. has proposed an interim cash dividend for the first half of 2026, following a sharp recovery in earnings driven by higher coal and methanol prices and increased output.

The Beijing-based coal miner said Chairman Xue Lingguang proposed distributing a cash dividend of no less than 20% of its attributable net profit for the January-June period, without share transfers or capitalisation.

The company expects attributable net profit of 743 million yuan ($110 million) for the first half of 2026, up 65.68% year on year, after a sharp decline in 2025 when revenue fell 12.16% to 8.03 billion yuan and net profit slumped 50.57% to 512 million yuan, hit by a broad market downturn in coal prices.

Haohua Energy produced 10.02 million tonnes of coal in the first half, up 2.7% year on year, with sales of 10.10 million tonnes, up 4.03%. Coal sales revenue rose 15.57% to 4.06 billion yuan, while gross profit from coal jumped 40.88% to 1.87 billion yuan.

Methanol output edged down 1.43% to 256,700 tonnes, but sales rose 2.09% to 253,600 tonnes. Methanol revenue increased 12.16% to 512 million yuan, with gross profit up 38.21% to 57.98 million yuan.

Based on the chairman's proposal, the interim dividend would be at least 149 million yuan.

In June 2026, Haohua Energy completed its 2025 profit distribution, paying 0.25 yuan per share (including tax) for a total of 360 million yuan, equivalent to 70.26% of its 2025 attributable net profit.

Since its listing in 2010, Haohua Energy has distributed a cumulative 4.71 billion yuan in dividends and has not conducted any refinancing beyond its initial public offering in 16 years.
