June coal output was at 34.95 million tonnes, up 2.7% year on year but down 5.7% from May, data from the Russian Federal State Statistics Service showed.

Of the total, 65% came from the Siberian Federal District, where output reached 22.89 million tonnes, edging up 0.2% from a year earlier but falling 11.2% from the previous month.

By coal type, anthracite production stood at 1.82 million tonnes in June, up 8.1% year on year and 5.3% month on month. Coki
