China aims to cut carbon intensity by 17% during 15th FYP

China plans to reduce its carbon emissions per unit of GDP by 17% during the 15th "Five-Year Plan" period (2026-2030), compared with a reduction of 12% during the 14th FYP period, according top economy planner National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) on Mar 5. In 2026, the country aims to cut carbon intensity by 3.8%, NDRC noted.
