Poland Sep hard coal output down 17.3% on yr, lignite up 2.4%

Poland's hard coal production reached 3.47 million tonnes in September, falling 17.3% from a year ago but inching up 0.8% on the month, official statistics showed.

Lignite production was 3.32 million tonnes in the month, up 2.4% year on year yet down 7.2% month on month, the data showed.

Poland's total coal production was calculated at 6.79 million tonnes in September, sinking 8.7% year on year and 3.3% month on month, marking a two-month sequential decline.

Poland produced a total 62.48 million tonnes of coal during January-September, a 2.8% fall from the same period last year.

Hard coal production was 32.25 million tonnes, down 7.9% on the year, while lignite production gained 3.3% to 30.23 million tonnes.
