Mongolia's Nov coal output jumps 58.1% YoY; iron ore falls 9.9%

Coal production of Mongolia came in at 8.23 million tonnes in November this year, surging 58.06% year on year and rising 1.94% month on month, showed data from the National Statistical Office of Mongolia.

 

 

The country produced 72.02 million tonnes of coal in the first eleven months of 2023, jumping 135.98% from the preceding year.

 

Mongolia's iron ore production was 546,600 tonnes in November, down 9.88% on the year and 49.86% on the month. This included 383,000 tonnes of iron sand, down 23.25% year on year and 54.54% from October, and 163,600 tonnes of iron concentrate, soaring 52.19% from a year ago but down 33.95% month on month.

 

 

Production of iron ore in Mongolia totaled 7.21 million tonnes during the first eleven months, down 21.17% year on year. Iron sand output was 5 million tonnes, down 33.39% year on year, and iron concentrate production increased 34.49% to 2.21 million tonnes.
