China's production of coke, crude steel, pig iron and finished steel products all extended year-on-year increases during the first nine months of this year, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

 

 

China produced 368.31 million tonnes of coke during January-September, rising 2.6% year on year. The output in September stood at 41.44 million tonnes, up 3.6% on the year yet a 0.3% dip from the previous month. Daily coke production stood at 1.38 million tonnes in September, up 3.0% on the month, data showed.

 

 

Crude steel output was registered at 795.07 million tonnes over January-September, a year-on-year increase of 1.7%. The September figure came in at 82.11 million tonnes, down 5.6% year on year and 5.0% from the previous month. The daily output averaged 2.74 million tonnes last month, down 1.8% from August.

 

 

The production of pig iron was 675.16 million tonnes during the first nine months, rising 2.8% from a year ago. Production in September was registered at 71.54 million tonnes, down 3.3% year on year and 4.1% from the previous month. The average output in September was 2.38 million tonnes, down 0.9% from the month prior.

 

 

Finished steel production climbed 6.1% year on year to 1.03 billion tonnes over January-September. Output in September stood at 117.82 million tonnes, 5.5% higher from a year earlier and up 1.1% compared to the preceding month. The figure put the average daily output to 3.93 million tonnes, a 4.5% rise month on month, NBS data showed.
