Kyrgyzstan delivered 431.4 tonnes of coal to China during January-February, compared with only 53 tonnes in the same period in the preceding year, according to official data.

Kyrgyzstan exported a total of 162,400 tonnes of coal from January to February, most of which went to neighboring Uzbekistan, reaching 105,319.5 tonnes, accounting for 65% of the total.

During this period, Kyrgyzstan also exported coal to European countries, including the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary.

Among them, the Netherlands imported 19,779.3 tonnes, accounting for 12% of the total exports. Polish, Romanian and Slovakian each bought around 10,000 tonnes. Hungary imported 6,389.5 tonnes. European countries did not buy Kyrgyzstan coal last year.

Romania purchased Kyrgyzstan coal at the highest price of 5,503 soms/t ($60.53/t). Poland 5,409 soms/t, Hungary 5,245 soms/t, China 5,231 soms/t, Netherlands 5,030 soms/t, Slovakia 4754 soms/t, and Uzbekistan 2,636 soms/t.

Kyrgyzstan's lignite exports reached 113,423.6 tonnes from January to February, which was 2.5 times that of the same period in 2022.
