Yulin, China's second largest coal hub located in Shaanxi province, has so far signed medium- and long-term contracts for 210 million tonnes of thermal coal in 2023 in response to the central government's call to further raise the proportion of contract supply to cool prices and maintain supply reliability.

In 2022, Yulin's coal production totaled 582 million tonnes, achieving a 5.4% rise from a high base of comparison a year earlier. Monthly production kept above 48.5 million tonnes through the year.

The city signed 410 million tonnes of medium- and long-term contracts in 2022 and broke them down into 177 coal mines, including 220 million tonnes for thermal coal. All contracts have been delivered, according to officials in the city's government.
