India is expected to add 7.5-8 GW of wind energy capacity in FY28, after adding over 6 GW in FY26, said Rajesh Kulhari, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy on Sep 22. India currently has about 24 GW of wind manufacturing capacity, far higher than the domestic annual deployment requirement.
