China's central bank, the People's Bank of China (PBOC), held a symposium with foreign financial institutions on September 21 to gather their opinions and suggestions, and to study ways to further improve the business environment and advance high-level opening-up of the financial sector. PBOC Governor Pan Gongsheng briefed attendees on China's current economic and financial conditions and monetary policy implementation, listened to their views and responded to issues of concern. Pan said China's economy is generally stable and improving, with continued structural optimization and new progress in high-quality development.
