Shanghai crude oil futures closed lower on September 18, 2026, with the front-month 2611 contract settling at 728.00 yuan/barrel, down 77.00 yuan or 9.57%, according to data from the Shanghai International Energy Exchange. Total trading volume across all contracts reached 357,609 lots, while open interest fell 2,559 lots to 79,150 lots. The front-month contract recorded a volume of 285,220 lots, with open interest down 2,115 lots to 42,228 lots.
