Ganqimaodu border port coal imports hit 34.44 Mt as of Sep 15

Ganqimaodu border port in China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region handled 34.44 million tonnes of coal imports so far this year, accounting for the bulk of its total cargo throughput.

Total import and export cargo volume at the port reached 36.51 million tonnes as of September 15, 2026, according to data released by the port's official WeChat account.

Coal imports stood at 34.44 million tonnes, while copper concentrate imports totaled 1.43 million tonnes and manganese ore imports were 2,400 tonnes. Exports reached 637,000 tonnes.

As of September 15, Mongolian coal companies offered 31.62 million tonnes of coal through auctions on the Mongolian Stock Exchange since the start of 2026, according to data compiled by Sxcoal.

Of that volume, 26.45 million tonnes were sold, giving a success rate of 84%. Ganqimaodu port served as the delivery point for 89% of the concluded deals.
