Canadian coal production fell again in June 2026 after a brief month-on-month rebound in May and recorded the fourth consecutive month of year-on-year declines, according to the latest data from Statistics Canada.
June output totaled 2.98 million tonnes, down 4.1% from the previous month and 9.0% lower than the same period last year.

In the first half of 2026, Canada's cumulative coal output reached 18.66 million tonnes, down 11.8% from a year earlier.
