As of September 1, Ganqimaodu border port has handled 35.34 million tonnes of inbound and outbound cargo since the start of this year, with coal accounting for the bulk of shipments.

Coal imports through the port reached 33.38 million tonnes during the period, alongside 1.35 million tonnes of copper concentrate and 2,400 tonnes of manganese ore. Outbound cargo totaled 601,200 tonnes.

In electronic auctions, Mongolian coal companies have offered a cumulative 26.63 million tonnes for bidding since the start of 2026 as of Aug 31, according to Sxcoal's compilation of Mongolian Stock Exchange data.

Of the total offered, 23.23 million tonnes were transacted, representing an 87% success rate. Among successful bids, 88% designated Ganqimaodu port as the delivery point.
