The U.S. installed a record 20.2 GWh of energy storage in Q2 2026, more than double the previous quarter and equal to over 10% of all capacity ever installed in the country, according to the Solar Energy Industries Association and Benchmark Mineral Intelligence. Arizona led all states with 6.2 GWh, the strongest quarterly result for any single state on record. Texas added 3.8 GWh and California 3.6 GWh.
