Xinjiang's coal outbound rail shipments now reach multiple regions across China, with volumes continuing to grow, according to the Xinjiang Coal Trading Center. The northwest region accounts for 44% of total outbound shipments, primarily flowing to Gansu at 21%, Ningxia at 18% and Qinghai, making it the top destination. The southwest follows as the second-largest flow at 37%, with Chongqing, Sichuan, Guizhou and Yunnan serving as key consumption markets, while central China's Henan, Hubei and Hunan, along with northern regions including Hebei, Shanxi, Tianjin and Beijing, receive the remaining 19% of shipments.
