The National Marine Forecast Station issued a blue wave alert on Sep 2, according to the Ministry of Natural Resources. Affected by Typhoon Shadel, the 18th of this year, waves of 3.5-5.8 meters are expected in the northern and central South China Sea from the morning of Sep 2 to the morning of Sep 3, with nearshore waters off Fujian and eastern Guangdong seeing waves of 2-3 meters, triggering a blue alert for coastal areas.
