Eurozone inflation accelerated to 3.3% year on year in August 2026, up from 2.9% in July, according to preliminary data released by Eurostat on Sep 1. Energy prices in the euro area rose 14.3% YoY in August, widening sharply from a 10.3% increase in July and serving as the main driver behind the higher overall inflation rate.
