Japan's crude steel and pig iron output both rebounded month on month in July 2026, according to data from the Japan Iron and Steel Federation.
Crude steel production totaled 6.95 million tonnes in July, up 0.4% year on year and 2.3% from the previous month.

Ordinary steel output stood at 5.34 million tonnes, up 0.5% year on year and 2.3% month on month, while special steel production was 1.61 million tonnes, down 0.1% from a year earlier but up 2.3% from the prior month.
