U.S. coal production totaled 42.6068 million short tons (38.6522 million tonnes) in July 2026, down 5.66% year on year but up 4.65% month on month, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration's (EIA) latest Monthly Energy Review released on Aug 26. During January-July, cumulative U.S. coal output reached 298 million short tons, down 2.39% from the same period last year.
