Shanghai outlines 15th "Five-Year Plan" for trade hub, targets expanded metals trading

Shanghai has issued a plan to accelerate its international trade center construction during the 15th "Five-Year Plan" period, proposing to expand trading volumes of key metals including copper and aluminum. The plan also calls for accelerating the development of futures product sequences for emerging metals such as lithium, cobalt and nickel, while supporting traditional products like steel to explore international markets and consolidating the pricing benchmark status of "Shanghai copper", "Shanghai oil" and "Shanghai rubber".
