A coal mine in Xianyang, Shaanxi Province has been held accountable and punished

Shaanxi province's emergency management department has penalized a coal mine in Xianyang for 11 violations of work safety regulations, including improper working face layout inconsistent with mining area design, construction of transient electromagnetic advanced detection that deviated from design specifications, and use of a total station instrument with an expired calibration date. The violations, uncovered during a June 2026 inspection, reflected weak awareness of lawful production, inadequate on-site management and chaotic equipment control at the mine, the department said. Authorities imposed penalties on the mine and its principal responsible personnel under China's Work Safety Law and related regulations on administrative punishment for work safety violations.
